We were asked to redesign an office space housing the new headquarters of the property consultancy firm ALAIN, one of the current leaders in the real estate market. The offices are located in the heart of Valencia city centre, on the corner between Calle Don Juan de Austria and Plaza de los Pinazo.
There was a clear objective from the outset: to change the old-fashioned, impractical appearance of the offices and adapt them to the youthful, sophisticated, contemporary company image. Another aim was to visually enlarge and brighten the space, and this was achieved using reflective materials and glass partition walls.
The more ‘public’ spaces were rearranged, including the signing rooms, reception and waiting area, placing them nearer to the entrance. Meanwhile, the offices were positioned towards the back of the space, in a more intimate area accessed by a corridor.
Our intervention focused primarily on the entrance area, where we sought to create a new atmosphere for visiting clients, who now enter an open-plan space full of light thanks to the new glass partition walls, in sharp contrast with the original appearance of the offices. The large reception desk, designed by the studio and personalised with a backlit company logo, becomes a key part of the overall space, lending a sense of scale to the entrance hall.
The artificial lighting was treated as an additional construction element, creating lines of LED lights to guide visitors and highlighting the main aspects of the intervention, such as the reception desk and signing room table.
