Complete interior renovation of an existing detached house. The original house featured a rather impractical layout, with poorly connected spaces and complicated staircases in inappropriate places.
The renovation focuses on rearranging the spaces and relocating the staircase to create a clearer relationship between the floors. The living room was extended, increasing the double height of the ceiling and enhancing the connections between the different spaces.
The original house is pronouncedly rustic in nature. This influenced the new design, which aimed to find a balance by introducing clean, white walls and seamless open spaces; the interior carpentry was treated in an abstract manner from floor to ceiling and slim-profile aluminium windows were fitted.
