This detached house is informed by a concept of serenity and profound connection to nature.
It is situated against one of the boundaries to one side of the plot to ensure that the expanse of garden surrounding the main rooms of the house is as large as possible.
When designing the house, we sought horizontality as a response to the flat terrain, as well as the lush vegetation typical of the Mediterranean. Only one small volume on the second floor, which contains the study, breaks the flat line of the ensemble and creates a diagonal composition lending a sense of elevation and fluidity to the building as a whole.
Almost all of the rooms in the house are located on the ground floor, arranged around a central courtyard designed as a rectangular space with two glazed sides. The courtyard links the rooms to the bedrooms, separating the more intimate sleeping area from the day area, which receives a powerful stream of natural light. It is also a cool, fresh space whose essence fills the interior of the house. An ideal solution allowing residents to live in harmony with the greenery outside, the sunshine and Valencia’s intense, vibrant light.
