This renovation project centres around an office located in Valencia city centre, belonging to a company which markets renewable energies internationally.
With a rectangular floor plan, the office was originally divided into two parts. Our proposal and subsequent intervention removed the existing partition wall to create an open-plan space in which different working environments were established by means of carefully selected furniture and other decorative motifs. As the only dividing element in the space, we elected to incorporate a simple translucent glass screen which is hollow at the top for greater privacy in one of the workspaces.
The visual theme of the project was informed by the company’s work in the renewable energy sector. In line with this theme, a long cupboard was installed from one end of the office to the other, with six sliding doors lined with matt vinyl. A composition of images featuring ecological and natural motifs in two tones of intense brown was printed onto the vinyl panels. This cupboard performs a twofold practical function in relation to our aim of keeping the space open. It contains all of the items necessary for the company’s activity, removing the need for further storage areas in other parts of the office.
The combination of brown, tobacco and aubergine tones on the walls, along with the white upholstery and an earthy rug placed in the meeting room, reflects the environmental theme we wished to create throughout the offices.
